Graffiti Bars… In 6 Days and counting…

In my post [Graffiti Writers Get Their Chocolate Too], I mentioned that Alison Nelson was releasing a new set of chocolate bar, graffiti inspired. I wanted to follow-up to let you know that you can start eating them in 4 days – yes, they are being released on March 30th! I wish I was in NYC then…

The participating graffiti writers are legends, some of whom have been absent from the street scene for decades! The chocolate bars will be wrapped in pieces by Blade, Crachee, Crash, Crime 79, Dondo, Revolt, Iz the Wiz, Lady Pink, Spar One and Stay High 149. Madness!!!!

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the [All Stars Project]. (I like good deeds)

Here is what they will look like… if you want my advice, it’s one in a case and one to eat….

The Hotel Box…

While I appreciate great designs, I am not always sure what designed products are for. This, for instance, is an amazing design… I mean it’s simple, it looks good and it definitely sounds functional… granted I am not certain what the actual function is.

The website states:

I’m the kind of person who will just keep on buying boxes because they’re cute, not because I need them. And then I don’t know where to put all the boxes I accumulate; I pile them up and eventually end up giving them away as gifts (don’t tell my friends) or I have to store them at my parents’ (they think they’re gifts too). Those boxes are just cool … and they are sturdy enough to hold shoes!

Mark Ryden: a genius.

While most of us know his CD cover works for the Red Hot Chili Peppers or Michael Jackson’s Dangerous album, less know of the artist himself.

I went to see Mark Ryden’s “Blood” exhibit in Pasadena, CA a few years ago and I was amazed. First because his work is so finely detailed. Second, because he is so obviously deranged. And finally, because he is completely infatuated with Cristina Ricci.

While you can’t judge very well from the following image, this is one of his most detailed pieces in my opinion. If you look closely inside the dress, everything is finely drawn and painted. Unbelievable. Oh yes, and she looks like Cristina Ricci.

Beckham – major cheese ball!

I know Liebovitz shot the picture – and I know it’s for the Disney “Year of a Million Dreams” campaign but… Beckham as Prince Charming?? That is the cheesiest thing I’ve ever seen. Like he wasn’t cheesy enough.

Oh – and this is what he said about being in this picture [excerpt from PopSugar.com]:

“I’m the prince, and I’m sort of slaying a dragon, which is something I’ve never done before, obviously,” Beckham says in the Disney press materials. “When I was called about it and asked to do it, I was very honored and really looking forward to it, especially with Annie doing the pictures.”

Wow.

Sorry, not the biggest Beckham fan…
